Five killed in Kohat Police Line Colony blast

KOHAT: An explosion struck Kohat Police Line Colony at Hangu Road on Tuesday, killing five people including two children and wounding 30 other, Geo News reported. Our correspondent told anchorperson that the blast was of high intensity and more casualties were feared.

Water level in Mangla dam remains unchanged

MIRPUR (AJK): Water level in Mangla Dam remained unchanged on Monday at 1206 feet against the dead level of 1040 feet. The water level in Jhelum river was constantly receding as the inflow of the river into the dam was recorded as 33,900 cusecs, official sources said. The sources said that water level in the dam remained at 166 feet above the stipulated dead level

RAHIMYAR KHAN: Former skipper of Pakistan Cricket team and Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan Monday said that Altaf Hussain only talked about a revolution but ‘I go a step further and say that Pakistan will not survive.’ Addressing chamber of commerce here, the TI chief said that rulers have been wasting billions of rupees of taxpayers’ money and are now begging for more. “The international community wants to provide financial assistance but they do not trust the Pakistan government,” he maintained.

Joint investigation team to probe abduction of Umar Cheema

ISLAMABAD: A joint investigation team has been constituted to probe into the abduction and torture of The News reporter Umar Cheema, which would submit its report within eight days, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said during a meeting with the victim, Geo News reported. The team comprised of ISI, MI, IB, Jang Group and representatives of journalists. He said that sketches of abductors would be drawn and the investigation would be conducted on modern lines.
